{heart}
Two men are sitting around a table inside what looks like a grand library of some sort - books stacked high on the shelves that rise very nearly to the ceiling. A handful of books are also strewn across the table; the titles - such as they can be seen - includes Foretelling the Heart among others, all similarly esoteric-sounding. The older of the two - a man with long blond hair and a face that could best be called 'severe' - speaks first.
"Has there been any further success in recovering your memories?"
"Nothing yet," the younger man answers, his long silver hair swaying as he shakes his yet.
"Nothing? I would have thought the experiments..."
"Master Ansem forbade them."
"Did he?" The older man sounds surprised, and perhaps a little disappointed. "A shame, but I suppose there's nothing to be done for it. Perhaps time will help?"
"Perhaps." The young man doesn't sound entirely convinced, though, even as he turns back to his research.
The image switches to a series of still vignettes, after that, all focused on the same silver-haired young man; while time is undeniably passing they all seem remarkably mundane. Shots in that same library, or talking walks in a lush garden, or talking with a man who seems to his mentor. A normal life, in as much as anyone can have.
{goat}
A young woman sits holding a roughly teenaged boy across her lap, in the middle of what could best be called a post-apocalyptic sort of background - there's nothing but dirt-covered rock and tall, barren cliffs as far as can be seen. Both are wearing armor; the young man's is very distinctly frosted over, as is what of the rest of him can been seen (mostly, his head). Which explains his unnaturally stiff posture, and although his eyes are still moving, that seems to be all he can do aside from shiver spasmodically.
For a while, neither moves, until a noise comes from above. The young woman turns, setting the young man down nearby as looks up, but it's not enough to save her from the blow that follows, as a masked figure drops down from above, striking her down with a single blow. She falls, limp, as the figure lands, though dead or merely unconscious is harder to tell.
On the ground beside her, the young man starts to defrost - through sheer anger, judging by his expression - but it's not fast enough. Instead the masked figure's blade rises again... and falls, this time with much more of a sense of finality.
